Norwegian ski jumpers have said their sport does not need “this kind of attention” after male athletes were reportedly injecting their penises in a bid to improve athletic performance at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina.

Last January, the German newspaper Bild published, external She reported that jumpers were injecting their penises with hyaluronic acid before measuring for their suits.

Hyaluronic acid, which is not prohibited in sports, can be used to increase the circumference of the penis by one or two centimetres.

This would increase the surface area of ​​their suits during competition, which could increase their levitation, according to the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS).

However, some Norwegian ski players reacted to the reports with skepticism.

“I don’t think we need this kind of attention, and on the women’s side we are very quiet about it,” said Norwegian women’s national team coach Christian Meier.

“I’ve never seen anything like this, so I also wonder if it’s true. I actually don’t believe it.”
