2026 Winter Olympics: The skill and controversy of Guillaume Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Baudry

Fournier Beaudry competed for Canada and Denmark before being quickly transferred to French nationality last year in order to find a new champion partner.

This comes after Cizeron separated from Gabriella Papadakis, with whom he won the 2022 Beijing Olympics and five world titles, and who has been his skating partner since they were children.

The division was very sharp. Earlier this year, she released memoirs describing an “unbalanced” relationship with Cizeron, in which she said she felt “under his grip” and accused him of being “controlling” and “demanding”.
