49ers reporter Grant Kuhn mocks Kyle Shanahan after embarrassing football loss

Since it’s the offseason for the San Francisco 49ers, Kyle Shanahan spent Saturday coaching the Wildcats FFC in the inaugural Fanatics Flag Football Classic tournament. Shanahan’s Wildcats suffered a crushing 39-16 loss to Team USA in the opener, but eliminated Tom Brady’s founders 34-26 in the tournament quarterfinals to earn a spot in the championship game.

However, Shanahan’s poor record in tournament games continued as the Wildcats lost 24-14 to Team USA in the final. Even 49ers reporter Grant Kuhn took aim at the coach after Shanahan lost another championship game.

“Kyle Shanahan just lost his 4th championship as a head coach. He’s now 0-4,” Kuhn tweeted on Saturday.

Shanahan has an 0-3 record in Super Bowls. He lost in his first Super Bowl appearance as offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons in 2017.

Shanahan has been coaching the 49ers since February 2017. He led San Francisco to two Super Bowls, but his team ended up losing both games to the Kansas City Chiefs at the final hurdle.

Although taking a team to the championship game is no easy task, Shanahan will want to finish with the winning team soon.

Kyle Shanahan’s San Francisco 49ers own the No. 27 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft

Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers made the playoffs last season. After defeating the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Round, San Francisco exited the playoffs with a crushing 41-6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional Round.

The 49ers have the 27th pick in this year’s draft. Shanahan will need to make the most of his first-round pick if San Francisco wants to make a deeper run in the playoffs next season.
