Japan coach Eddie Jones agreed with Tandy on Adams’ ruling.

He was also angry that Epineri Uluiviti, Faulua Makisi and Harry Hockings received yellow cards for dangerous tackles.

โ€œIt’s almost comical now,โ€ Jones said. โ€œWe are absolutely ruining the game of rugby.

โ€œI don’t think any of the actions we committed today were intentional and deserve to be vilified, either us or Wales.

โ€œWe have to have a more rational approach to the game. There will be connections with the head.

“Unless it’s reckless, which I haven’t seen in any of these actions, I don’t understand those sanctions. Of course we have to impose sanctions, but it has to be looked at.”

Jones says these issues need to be addressed by World Rugby.

โ€œAt one point we were down to 13 players, they got a red card and they were down to 14 players,โ€ Jones said.

“Rugby is about 15 players on the field and I think the rugby world needs to look at this more closely. It’s getting ridiculous.”

Japan led several times in the match but were unable to get over the line and register their first win in Wales.

However, Jones couldn’t resist one hilarious quip at the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU).

โ€œIf I were a fan I would be asking the Welsh Rugby Union for my money back,โ€ Jones said.

โ€œBut they can’t afford it so they won’t return it!โ€
