✅ Main takeaway:

Hooker Jamie George, winger Tom Roebuck and center Oli Lawrence have been ruled out of Sunday’s match against Argentina, as the harsh autumn in England takes its toll on the squad.

All three started in the 33-19 win over New Zealand last weekend, but George and Lawrence have suffered hamstring injuries while Roebuck has a foot problem.

Two other key players, lock Ollie Chisum and center Tommy Freeman, are again unavailable after missing the win over the All Blacks.

Hooker Jamie Blamire, second row Charlie Ewells and uncapped teenage winger Noah Calori have joined the squad as Steve Borthwick’s side target an unbeaten autumn.

Calori, who was named in England’s autumn international squad, scored in England A’s win over Spain on Saturday.

Argentina are in London this week after overcoming Wales and then coming back from a huge deficit to surprise Scotland in Edinburgh last Sunday.

Midfielder George Ford, who masterminded the 2-0 win in Argentina in the summer, says England expect a tough time against the Pumas.

“I know firsthand from being there in the summer how good the Argentine team is,” Ford told BBC Sport.

“They are an amazing, passionate, passionate team and we will have to make sure we prepare properly for that.”

Meanwhile, full-back Freddie Steward is available for selection despite failing a head injury assessment in the first half against the All Blacks.

The Rugby Football Union says Steward has passed a second and third health impact assessment, so he is cleared to play this weekend.
