Great Britain’s women got their EuroBasket 2027 qualifying campaign back on track with a comfortable 91-48 win over Norway in Bergen.
Britain began its qualifying campaign by defeating Switzerland in Manchester, but narrowly lost to Austria in Vienna in its second match last weekend.
But they dominated the Norwegians early, with Savannah Wilkinson dropping 12 points in the first quarter alone, as the visitors took a 26-16 lead.
They didn’t let their advantage slip, extending the lead to 53-25 at halftime and eventually cruised to victory in a dominant performance on the road.
Wilkinson led the British national team with 20 points, followed by Hannah Gump and Timmy Fagbenle with 13 points each, while Stein Ostjolen topped the list of Norway’s top scorers with 18 points.
The women’s team, which participated in the qualifiers despite the suspension of the British Basketball Association, will play its remaining three matches of the first round in March 2026.
The top two teams from each group qualify for the second round of the qualifiers, along with the best three teams in third place from the seven groups.
The next edition of EuroBasket will be jointly hosted by Belgium, Sweden, Finland and Lithuania in June 2027.
