✅ Here’s what you’ll learn:

Liverpool manager Arne Slott said the “last thing” he should be worried about is the form of Mohamed Salah.

Salah was Liverpool’s top scorer with 29 goals last season, and he also contributed 18 assists in the team’s victory in the English Premier League title.

The 33-year-old has scored just three league goals this season as Liverpool struggle to reproduce their title-winning form after spending around £415m on attacking talent in the summer.

After four successive defeats, including Sunday’s defeat to Manchester United at Anfield, Slot left Salah on the bench for the 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

“The main thing is that he has always scored goals for Liverpool,” Slott replied when asked about Salah’s level in a press conference on Friday.

“The last thing I have to worry about is Mo scoring goals again. He has done that all his life and I expect him to do it again in the coming weeks and months.”

Slott has integrated summer signings Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekiteke and Florian Wirtz into a revamped system at Frankfurt, but the Swede’s thigh injury – sustained in the first half – could see Salah return to the starting line-up at Brentford on Saturday.

The Egyptian winger has gone seven consecutive Premier League matches without scoring a goal without a penalty kick – his longest streak since joining Liverpool in 2017.

“In general in football, players miss chances and he is a human being,” Slott said. “We are not used to him missing chances.”

The Liverpool coach said summer arrivals and the departure of right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid could contribute to Salah’s relatively slow start to the season.

“It could be a factor [no Alexander-Arnold] He also played his entire career at Liverpool [up to this season] “With him, but he was in promising positions to score goals,” Slott said.

“In general, some changes in the team since the summer mean that everyone needs to find new connections again. It might have something to do with that.”
