Premier League Predictions: Chris Sutton vs. The Charlatans guitarist Mark Collins and A.I

United were lucky with their first goal against Liverpool last week because the game should have been stopped, and we’ve all seen the problems Liverpool’s backline has had this season too.

So, while I understand why any United win over their rivals at Anfield is a massive result, it doesn’t mean they’ve overdone it and turned the corner.

They have just made it two consecutive league wins for the first time since Ruben Amorim took over last November, but I don’t look at them and think they will score a hat-trick on Saturday.

Brighton striker Danny Welbeck impressed me when he came to the Monday Night Club this week and I’m rooting for his boys here.

The Seagulls have always been fearless under Fabian Horzler and they will be brave at Old Trafford too. I’m backing Welbeck to achieve one of their goals, and go after his former club.

It’s up to United to prove me wrong, and show everyone they have the consistency they’ve been lacking, and that could be part of the Amorim team’s talking.

Sutton predictions: 1-2

Mark’s favorite United players: I loved the wingers we had in the 1970s, Gordon Hill and Steve Coppell, and always appreciated the kind of players who were fun to watch.

We’ve had a few of them over the years, like Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo and I was hoping Anthony would be another one – but that didn’t quite work out, did it? Right now, I’m enjoying watching Brian Mbeumo play. It’s not as explosive as the others I mentioned, but it fits really well.

Mark’s predictions: I live in Portugal now but I’m back in Cheshire for training this week and for this game, and United are making an offer for me!

Brighton have done well every time they have come to Old Trafford recently, but I think United will show a little more spirit. We will not take our foot off the pedal after the win over Liverpool. We deserved this result, despite what Arne Slott was complaining about, and I feel this will be a convincing win. 3-1
