✅ **What You’ll Learn**:

Spotify is adding a new mode to its mobile app for people who like to listen to music while running. The new playback mode prepares songs based on different stages of playback, and selects tracks based on your preferences and tempo.

Paying subscribers can find the running mode in the Fitness Hub, and can choose from 25 presets. Users can choose their type of exercise from options such as interval running, steady state running, or pyramid running, and can customize the duration, number of beats per minute, and the type of music they want to listen to.

In addition to playing songs, Run mode can create audio cues for different stages of your run as well. This feature only works in English at this time.

The new mode takes advantage of the AI chips that Spotify tested as part of its requested playlists last year. The streaming platform noticed that many people were using this feature to create lists of fitness and exercise activities, and this new running mode was inspired by that feedback.

Earlier this year, the company introduced fitness content with fitness equipment maker Peloton.

The launch mode comes two months after fitness app Strava announced that its recording feature would no longer integrate Spotify within the app.

The feature is available starting Wednesday for Premium users on iOS in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Sweden.
