💡 Key idea:

The first song I fell in love with
The first song I remember feeling inspired by was Good Luck by Basement Jaxx. My mom had all her CDs. “Good Luck” was the first song I sang for my manager before they joined me, so I still love it very much.

First song I bought
My mum gave me the money to go and buy Jamiroquai’s Feels Just Like It Does for 69p from HMV in Oxford Circus. This was my first time buying a physical CD.

The song I play at karaoke
I hate karaoke. But if I had to, I’d do I’m Outta Love by Anastacia, because I can show my voice. She’s always been a huge inspiration – so raw and raw and honest.

Best song to play at a party
Millionaire Kills featuring Andre 3000, for which he raps: “Where there’s cheese, there’s mice / Where there’s mice, there’s cats / Where there’s cats, there’s dogs.”

The song I can no longer listen to
A friend of mine at school borrowed my iPad, and when she returned it, she had listened to Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” multiple times and it was at the top of her most played songs. Even though I love Taylor Swift, it really bothered me that my friend flipped all my data.

The song that wakes me up in the morning
Skankin’ Sweet by Chronixx. It’s also my anxiety song, when I have low self-esteem, or don’t feel good in myself, it always makes me feel better.

The song I secretly love but tell everyone I hate
I’m not ashamed to like anything, but people don’t expect me to like Mantra by Bring Me the Horizon. I think a true metal person would say this album is too pop, but since I’m a pop girl, I find it too heavy, which is fine for me in the gym.

The song that changed my life
Rudimental’s “Waiting All Night” was the first song I heard in my own voice, when I was 17 years old. It went to number one, we won a Brit award, and on my way home from the O2, I gained 80,000 followers on Twitter. My life has completely exploded.

The song that makes me cry
I was at a party in Ghana, and someone plugged their iPhone into the speaker, and Adaugo by the Cavemen played. It’s really beautiful, and takes me back to that moment every time I hear it.

Ella Eyre’s new album Everything In Time will be released on November 21.
