Profits from Disney, CoreWeave, Sony, and Cisco; Veterans Day holiday

Prepare for a four-day trading week, if you trade bonds.

With several major economic reports expected to be delayed due to the government shutdown, investors this week will focus largely on corporate earnings reports. Some will get a short break: Bond markets, banks and government offices will be closed Tuesday for the Veterans Day holiday, although stock markets will remain open.

Earnings from Walt Disney, CoreWeave, Sony, Cisco and Applied Materials highlight this week’s corporate calendar. The October Small Business Optimism Survey comes as market watchers pay attention to how economic pressures are affecting small businesses. The Treasury Department’s monthly federal budget report is expected to show how much revenue will come from the tariffs.

Disney and CoreWeave earnings are among the reports to watch

AI data center company CoreWeave’s earnings on Monday are likely to keep investors focused on the technology that has helped push markets higher over the past few years. After going public earlier this year, CoreWeave shares more than doubled. Deals with chip maker Nvidia and social media giant Meta are sparking optimism in the company’s business.

Nuclear power provider Oklo’s report on Tuesday is expected to show growth tied to the electricity needs of artificial intelligence data centers. Network infrastructure provider Cisco’s report on Wednesday comes after it nearly doubled its artificial intelligence sales target in the previous quarter. Applied Materials is scheduled to report its report on Thursday as the chipmaking equipment supplier faces restrictions on its sales to China.

Walt Disney’s report on Thursday comes after the company recently launched its ESPN sports app and plans to purchase the NFL Network. Other noteworthy earnings this week include Circle Internet Group, a stablecoin provider, Flutter Entertainment, the parent company of FanDuel, satellite launch company Rocket Lab, and sneaker maker On Holdings.

But there’s more to it than earnings, and that includes Tuesday, when chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices is scheduled to hold an analysis day at which CEO Lisa Su is expected to provide more details about the company’s artificial intelligence roadmap.
