Aaron Ramsey: Wales coach Craig Bellamy will not push the player to make a decision about the future

Ramsey made just six appearances for the Pumas, but scored the winning goal to give his side a 1–0 win over Atlas on 31 August.

The former Arsenal player endured a difficult time off the field in Mexico after his family dog, Halo, went missing.

After returning to his homeland, Ramsey was in charge of Wales’ 7-1 win over North Macedonia in a recent World Cup qualifier, training at the Vale Resort of the Football Association of Wales.

Bellamy added: “If he feels he’s ready to go and wants to move on, we’ll go and see where you are and then we’ll come to that decision. If you feel like this is the end of the day and this isn’t for you, tell me where you want your statue.”

“It’s not about what I want, it’s about him. It’s more important.”

“Would I love for Aaron Ramsey to be fit at the top of his game? All day long. But I don’t always get what I want.”

The Wales coach added: “I think we need to respect our athletes, Welsh athletes who we cherish.

“What you did for us, what memories you were able to give us, we will give you any time you need, we are not pressuring you.

“We are not like others, we take care of ourselves, we take care of ourselves, and whatever decision they choose, we support you no matter what.”
