Broadhurst has already set her sights on reaching the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles and is adjusting to juggling boxing and being a mother.
“Although the initial decision to move to Great Britain in 2024 was a somewhat whirlwind experience, I have been warmly welcomed by BGB Boxing and treated really well, so it is great to be back in the team,” she said.
“Balancing boxing with being a mum is definitely a challenge, but my little boy is my biggest motivation. “I’ll be flying from Ireland to Britain every week, but having him with me every two weeks will make a huge difference and keeps me grounded and reminds me why I’m doing this.
“When I missed out on qualifying last time, I was devastated, but now I see it differently. Everything happens for a reason. I feel strong and comfortable competing in the 60kg category. In the past, I would go up and down with the weight but this time I am focusing on maintaining consistency.
He added: “I am fully committed to the next two and a half years and my goal is simple. Train hard, keep improving, and do everything I can to reach the 2028 Olympics.”
