📌 Main takeaway:

“I’ve taken some time off and I’ll be back with a huge show. It’s a big opportunity for me,” the 2012 Olympic gold medalist said.

“Like it or not, I’m here to achieve huge numbers, fight big fights and break all the records while remaining calm and collected.

“Mark my words, you’ll see more fighters taking these opportunities in the future. I’m about to break the internet because of Jake Paul’s face.”

Paul became famous through a YouTube account that now has nearly 21 million subscribers.

However, in recent years he has turned his attention to boxing and has fought primarily as a cruiserweight champion at around 200 pounds.

However, he moved up to 227.5 pounds at heavyweight when he beat former world champion Mike Tyson in an exhibition bout in 2024 that attracted 108 million viewers.

Paul then beat former middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., 39, via unanimous points decision, a win that gave him No. 14 in the WBA cruiserweight rankings.

But Paul – who has a 12-1 win-loss record, with seven knockouts – has only made 70 rounds since turning pro in 2020.

By contrast, Joshua (28-4, 25 KO) has 12 years of experience as a pro and has fought more than 160 bouts.
