Antoine Simenho: The new signing praises the ideal environment in Man City

The burden of goalscoring for City falls mostly on the shoulders of their star striker Erling Haaland This season, the Norwegian international scored 39 goals in 34 matches for his club and country.

But the prolific striker has hit a rough patch of late, scoring just once in his past six games and most recently netting from open play against West Ham on December 20.

Playing mostly as a wide player from the right flank, Semenho’s quality in front of goal for Bournemouth has seen him score 10 Premier League goals so far this season, ranking third in the league’s top scorers list behind new team-mate Haaland and Brentford’s Igor Thiago.

Not only can Haaland expect a new path to goal scoring service – as demonstrated by Semenyu’s assist against Exeter – but the weight of scoring can now be shared with a player who has scored a total of 32 goals for the Cherries.

Semenyo adds versatility to City with his ability to play anywhere in attack, enhancing the options available to the manager Pep Guardiola.

The Ghanaian’s pace, direct running and brilliant finishing have already been on display in Manchester this season, as he scored brilliantly against United at Old Trafford in a chaotic 4-4 draw.

Guardiola will hope the new arrival can provide that kind of chaos and unpredictability alongside the versatility and vision of Phil Foden and the magic of Rayyan Chergui in the final third.
