💡 **What You’ll Learn**:

We’re about to get our first real look at the results of the recently announced AI partnership between Apple and Google, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Gurman reported that Apple plans to announce a new version of Siri in the second half of February. Using Google’s Gemini AI prototypes, this Siri update will reportedly be the first to deliver on the promises Apple made in June 2024, with the ability to complete tasks with access to the user’s personal data and on-screen content.

And that’s before a bigger upgrade that Apple plans to announce in June, at its Worldwide Developers Conference, Gorman says. This version of Siri is meant to be more conversational, similar to other chatbots like ChatGPT, and can run directly on Google’s cloud infrastructure.

Previous reports indicated that Apple was struggling to get its AI strategy back on track. In fact, Gorman says Apple’s Mike Rockwell told members of the organization’s team over the summer that one of Gorman’s previous reports was “bulls.” But with the partnership with Google, as well as the recent departure of John Giannandrea, Apple’s head of artificial intelligence, it seems the company has already found a new direction.
