Arman Tsarukyan: “The performance was crazy”

Khamzat Chimaev praised Arman Tsarukyan after the latter’s victory over Dan Hooker at the UFC Qatar tournament. Tsarukyan submitted Hooker in the second round as he continued his pursuit of the UFC lightweight title.

Armenian Islam Makhachev was scheduled to fight for the gold at UFC 311. However, he pulled out just one day before the bout due to a back injury.

This dominant win adds more weight to his title claims, something Chimaev also backed. ‘Borse’ spoke to the UFC after Tsarukyan’s win and suggested this was the champion’s performance:

“The performance was crazy. Crazy like a world champion. I knew it was going to be the end, but I wanted to wait not to say it.”

The UFC middleweight champion also called Tsarukyan a “champ” and pushed the Armenian for a title shot.

“Arman is the best, he’s No. 1, he’s the champion. I think he’s one of the best fighters in the world, and he should fight for the belt.”

Arman Tsarukyan calls out Ilya Topuria after UFC Qatar

Arman Tsarukyan wasted no time in disqualifying Ilya Topuria after his dominant win. The Armenian praised Dan Hooker for taking this fight and then called out the current UFC lightweight champion for a title shot.

Tsarukyan also claimed that this was the best fight to be made via the UFC.

“Me VS Ilia is the best fight you can have in any division. No more running into El pato.”

Topuria is one of the biggest names in the UFC, and it will be interesting to see who he fights next. A Tsarukyan win would certainly put him in title contention, but Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje have also been linked as potential challengers to the lightweight champion.
