Ashley Beck has been appointed Wales’ attacking coach for the Women’s Six Nations

Wales coach Lynn said Beck had a “real pedigree” in women’s football and “the players find him relatable”.

“We spoke and discussed rugby regularly when he was in charge of the young Brython Thunder team in the Celtic Challenge, and I was impressed by the way he thought about the game,” Lane said.

“Ash is full of new ideas on how to attack teams and I’m excited to see what he can bring to the coaching staff and the squad.”

Salvin will suspend his role at Sandy Park for the duration of the Six Nations campaign, succeeding Mike Hill, who the union says has chosen to move on.

Salvin was part of the coaching team that led the Chiefs to the Premier Women’s Rugby (PWR) finals in 2022 and 2023.

“The opportunity to work at international level with Wales and in the Women’s Six Nations was too good to turn down,” Salvin said.

“Sean [Lynn] He is a coach I coached at PWR and all the coaches respect what he built at Gloucester-Hartpury and the success he has had in building a successful, high-performing team.
