π Main takeaway:
Major wireless carriers: A necessary evil if you travel a lot, have a family, or are just interested in reliably consistent, broad coverage. AT&T is the third largest provider in the US (1st for 5G), with the largest coverage map. I’ve had multiple AT&T plans for over a decade, first just for myself and now for my entire family, even though I only have one cell phone bar in my house and have to stand in a single 5-foot square to make a phone call. And I’ve lost entire days of my life fighting random, unexpected accusations and upsells. (Verizon is somewhat worse.) But anyway! AT&T is good, they have the latest phones, and there are some nice perks, like no roaming in Canada or Mexico with specific plans. If you know you’ll have to go with one of the big guys, don’t sign up without checking out the discounts below first.
Save over $600 per year with AT&T Fiber (no promo code needed)
AT&T Fiber claims to be the fastest internet in America. You can find out for yourself (for less) with this new deal. When first-time customers sign up for Fiber Now, they’ll get 1GB for just $37 per month. That’s over $600 in savings per year! Just act before it’s too late, as this deal expires on December 19.
Are there promotions on AT&T for existing customers?
But I already have AT&T, so you might say the new deals never apply to me. But do you have AT&T Internet? If, like me, you have AT&T for your phone plan and Xfinity or CenturyLink for your internet, did you know that you can save 20% on your AT&T bill each month if you bundle your internet service with unlimited wireless? This applies to both existing phone customers and existing internet customers who do not have both plans.
AT&T discounts for professionals and students
One of the reasons I chose AT&T in the first place is because my husband is a college professor and we get a great 25% discount on our bill. This 25% discount applies to all teachers, as well as active military personnel, veterans, first responders and many medical professionals. Not one of the above? Students and union members can save $10 per line per month, and union members can also get a 20% discount on accessories like cases, and things you used to get with your phones, like chargers and cords.
How can I make my AT&T plan cheaper?
Not a new customer; Not in place for the package; Not a teacher/first responder, military, or student? All is not lost on the opponent’s front. You can save more than $800 per year on AT&T Wireless when you bundle four unlimited wireless plans with your existing internet plan. (Savings are based on 20% off four voice lines with qualifying internet service, plus $10 off a month on qualifying auto-pay and paperless billing, starting with two bills.)
Don’t need four unlimited wireless plans? Check if your employer offers a discount, which a couple of my employees did in the past, and you can save $10 per month per line on the unlimited plan. Check here to see if your workplace qualifies.
You can also get a discount on a new phone with a qualifying trade-in, but the best deal by far might be the fact that AT&T is letting you try wireless for free for 30 days. Keep your existing service and phone number while experiencing the AT&T network from your device β without any restrictions or obligations. You don’t even need a credit card. It’s a great way to see if you’ll get good service where you’ll be using the phone the most.
Finally, if none of these deals apply to you, you can wait for Cyber ββMonday later this year, on December 1), when AT&T is known to offer some of its best deals on phones, watches, tablets, and accessories. No codes or coupons required.
