✅ **What You’ll Learn**:
Earlier on Monday, Lorenzo Musetti produced a strong performance to defeat Taylor Fritz in straight sets and set up a quarter-final meeting with ten-time champion Novak Djokovic.
After going through a grueling five-set battle against Tomas Mattak two days ago, Musetti won 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 over the ninth-seeded American.
The 23-year-old Italian, ranked fifth in the world, has reached the quarter-finals in all four Grand Slam tournaments and said he will push Djokovic to his “max.”
The 24-time Grand Slam champion qualified for the quarter-finals after Jakub Mencic withdrew before their fourth-round match due to an abdominal injury.
Musetti, who won only once in his ten confrontations with the Serbian player, said: “Novak, we have played many times and every time it is a lesson.”
“He didn’t have to play today, so I’m sure he won’t get tired. Hopefully the rhythm I have now in the great game today will bring me luck in the next game.”
“I feel like I’m ready to try to push him to the limit.”
Djokovic (38 years old) will have three days of rest to recover before facing Musetti on Wednesday.
