Luke Johnson and his Polish partner Jan Zielinski defeated fourth seed Marcelo Arevalo from El Salvador and Croatian Mate Pavic, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2.

Skupski and Harrison will play third seeds Marcel Granollers of Spain and Horacio Zeballos of Argentina for the final place, while Johnson and Zielinski will face Australians Jason Kubler and Mark Polmans in the other half of the draw.

Andy Lapthorne and Gregory Slade were beaten in their four-way singles matches in the first round.

Lapthorne lost 6-4, 7-5 to Turkish Ahmed Kaplan, seeded fourth, while Slade lost 6-1, 6-3 to Brazilian Leandro Pena.

However, Lapthorne qualified for the quadruple doubles semi-finals alongside Australian Heath Davidson, achieving a 7-6 (7-1) and 6-4 victory over Chile’s Francisco Cayolev and Argentine Gonzalo Enrique Lazarte.
