Britain’s Neil Skupski and his American partner Christian Harrison won the men’s doubles title at the Australian Open in their first major tournament together.

Skupski (36 years old) and Harrison (31 years old) defeated Australians Jason Kubler and Mark Polmans 7-6 (7-4) and 6-4.

Skupski and Harrison competed together for the first time in Adelaide just before the Australian Open, reaching the semi-finals.

Liverpudlian Skupski played with fellow Briton Joe Salisbury throughout 2025, and they reached the final of the French Open and US Open, before Salisbury took a break from tennis due to anxiety.

This is the second Grand Slam men’s doubles title for Skupski, who won the Wimbledon title alongside Dutchman Wesley Koolhoff in 2023.

It is also the third time in the past five Grand Slams that at least one British player has won the men’s doubles.

Henry Patten won the Australian Open last year alongside Finn Hari Heliovaara, while the British duo Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool won at Wimbledon.
