✅ Here’s what you’ll learn:

George Springer and the rest of the Toronto Blue Jays took a 3-2 lead heading into Rogers Center for Game 6. It was a close game, but in the end, the Blue Jays failed to execute the tying run despite runners in scoring position. Then, in Game 7, they gave up the game-tying home run in the ninth inning to Miguel Rojas.

As such, there were several moments where the Blue Jays did not play their best baseball as they failed to end their 32-year drought of winning a World Series. The last time the club won the Fall Classic was in 1993, when it successfully defended the championship.

On Monday, the day after the Blue Jays lost Game 7, Springer’s wife, Charlize, wrote a warm letter, addressing her husband and the Blue Jays family with an expression of pride and gratitude.

“I am so proud of my husband, this team, and every family who poured their hearts into this season,” she wrote. “The highs, the late nights, the travel, the memories. This group has shown nothing but heart, humility and resilience from day one and it has been an honor to watch them pursue this dream together.

“Baseball doesn’t promise fairytale endings, but it gives you people and moments that last a lifetime. Feel nothing but grateful for the opportunity to represent Team Canada and be part of something so special🇨🇦 💙Until next season🐎#RunItBack.”

George Springer is optimistic about the Blue Jays despite losing the World Series

George Springer has been to the World Series four times, and on three of those occasions, he has lost them. It is very difficult to get close to the clips but are unable to close the position.

However, despite the heartbreaking loss, Springer kept his spirits high and said the club had a bright future.

“Yes, definitely. I’m excited (about what’s next),” Springer said Saturday night. “I think we’ve done a pretty good job this year as a team. I think we kind of exceeded a lot of expectations and did what we thought we could do as a team. So, I mean, I’m looking forward to getting back to work, whenever that may be.”

Springer won the World Series in 2017. That series was controversial in itself as it was later revealed that Astros players may have cheated their way into hoisting the title. Springer was part of that list and that’s why he was constantly booed during World Series games in Los Angeles.
