Best webcams (2026): My honest opinion after testing the best

I know there are a lot of complaints. But if you just need something simple and ‘good enough’, the Logitech Brio 300 will do the trick and certainly has better lighting performance than an older option like the Logitech C920. If you have good lighting in your room, the Brio 300 will still be an upgrade over your laptop webcam in terms of image quality.

The gap between $150 and $50 is pretty wide, but honestly, there aren’t a lot of great options I’ve tested in between. Check out my esteemed mentions below for some other options in between, but honestly, I’ve yet to see a $100 webcam that actually looks like it’s worth the extra money. One device I’m looking forward to testing on my next tour is the Anker AnkerWerk C310, which is a 4K upgrade over the C200 from a few years ago. It comes in at $100 and has a larger 1/2.5-inch sensor.

Best PTZ webcam

PTZ, also known as Pan-Tilt-Zoom webcams, are the latest hot product in the world of home office cameras. As the name suggests, it is much more versatile than a standard webcam. Essentially, the camera is stabilized on two axis and can follow you around the room using face tracking. They can pan far left or right, tilt up and down, and use digital zoom. It’s a pretty advanced feature set, and probably not the kind that most people shopping for a webcam will need. But if you use your webcam for streaming, giving presentations, courses, or anything else that involves staying in front of the camera while moving around your room, you probably need one. Even if you don’t needs First, you’ll probably enjoy trying everything they can do.

There are a couple of good options, but the best is the best Opposite Tiny 3 ($349). That’s too bad, because it’s also the most expensive webcam I’ve tested at $349. This is probably more than most people want to spend on a webcam, but it produced the best color accuracy overall. This camera reproduced realistic colors without looking overly processed, and it’s better than any other webcam I’ve tested—even beyond what Insta360 cameras can do. I still prefer the Insta360 cameras’ low-light performance, but the Obsbot Tiny 3’s colors are more natural. It can even shoot at 120fps at 1080p, though I’m not entirely sure what the use case for that is.

Obsbot has a cheaper version too, which is Opspot Tiny 3 Lite ($179)which may be the PTZ webcam that most people should buy due to its low price. It’s a slight step up in image quality, because it uses a small camera sensor. It’s worth noting that you don’t get as much natural background blur and low-light performance isn’t as strong. But it is one of the most affordable ways to get PTZ features without a significant drop in quality. In fact, these PTZ features are what you would buy these cameras for anyway.

In its latest release, Obsbot has introduced a lot of interesting new ways to control the axis using artificial intelligence. It can track objects, follow your voice, and gives you some voice modes that might be useful in specific use cases. For example, one might. There’s even a feature that allows you to use preset voice commands to control the gimbal, such as choosing between preset angles or zooming. All of the previous software features are still there too, and are too extensive to list here, but they include setting customizable preset angles, a desk mode, multiple head tracking speeds, and much more. There is a lot to play with, which is what makes this PTZ camera so much fun.

If you like the design of the Insta360, the company has a PTZ version of the Link 2C Pro that I recommended above. the Insta360 Link 2 Pro ($250) It has the same picture quality and microphone, with the added benefits of pan, tilt and zoom. (There is also a cheaper model, which is… Insta360 Link 2 ($200).) The main advantage it has over the Obsbot Tiny 3 is that it is $100 cheaper. This is important, even if the color accuracy isn’t quite as good. For what it’s worth, I liked the way it handled low-light scenarios a little better than the Obsbot Tiny 3. The Tiny 3 was definitely overexposed right out of the box.

Although the Insta360 Link 2 Pro isn’t as full-featured as the Obsbot cameras in terms of tricking out the AI, I like that you can control the gimbal with your phone to make adjustments. Instead of having to rely solely on desktop software or voice commands, Insta360 cameras allow you to quickly pull up controls in a browser on your phone after scanning a QR code, which is extremely useful.
