Bradford Bulls 18-6 Toulouse: Ethan Ryan’s hat-trick secures Premier League victory

Bradford Bulls coach Kurt Haggerty told BBC Radio Leeds:

“It was a long, scrappy, messy game, but it’s good to come out on the other side and win these games. We showed we can win in a bad way.

“You have to respect Toulouse, they are a really stubborn and brave team. So we had to be patient and maybe we didn’t move the ball as much as we did or planned, but in the end the work we did and the space we made created a platform.”

“We’ve got a big couple of weeks coming up, which we’ve just talked about as a team, so we’ve got to keep doing that throughout the season.

On the Blake and Ryan mix on the left: “They are both big bodies and carry the ball, they are both strong and talented, and you have to have a philosophy to get the ball to them and we do that, so you see the best version of Al-Waqa in particular, because he gets the ball in good areas and shows his quality.”

Toulouse coach Sylvain Holz said:

“We couldn’t put the rugby in place, but credit to them, I think they executed it well.

“Our energy was a little below our level today and that was probably down to Bradford coming out and being a little more competitive than us. They deserved to win.”
