Britain’s Matt Weston continued his perfect start to his Skeleton World Cup campaign with a gold medal in Sigulda, Latvia, while compatriot Marcus White finished second.
Later on Friday, Amelia Coltman secured a hat-trick of medals for the British team when she claimed bronze in the women’s race.
Weston (28 years old) won the first three men’s races in the 2025-2026 season, while White’s silver medal was the first individual medal of the season.
Two-time world champion Weston finished the race with a total time of 1 minute and 40.35 seconds, with White 0.85 seconds ahead. Felix Kissinger of Germany completed the podium, finishing just 0.03 seconds behind the silver medalist.
Weston’s win puts him 107 points ahead of China’s Cheng Yin at the top of the World Cup rankings. White ranks sixth, 62 points behind Yin.
Coltman’s third-place finish, behind Belgium’s Kim Millemans and Anna Fernstadt of the Czech Republic, was her best result of the season and the second World Cup medal of her career after gold in Pyeongchang last year.
Weston and Wyatt will race again at Sigulda on Saturday before taking a Christmas break, from which they will return to competition in Winterberg, Germany, on January 2.
