Britt Baker is making a big appearance, but not in AEW

Britt Baker just made his big appearance, but at an event outside of AEW and wrestling as a whole. Her hiatus with the company continues, with her future remaining uncertain.

Baker has not appeared in the ring since November 2024, when she faced Penelope Ford during an episode of Dynamite. Her situation is confusing because she does not have any serious injuries, and her contract with the company does not expire soon.

Britt Baker posted today on her Instagram Stories that she was at the NASCAR Daytona 500 race at the famous Daytona International Speedway. She posted several excerpts from the event, including a photo with Fox Sports’ Jacob Ullmann.

Update on Britt Baker’s status within AEW

The former AEW Women’s World Champion returned to the company at Forbidden Door 2024 after a nearly year-long hiatus. But ironically, she would only compete for a few months, with her match with Mercedes Mooney at All In being the highlight. She returned briefly in November of that year, but went on to have the longest absence of her career after that.

It’s been over a year, but things don’t seem to have changed. A few days ago, fans asked Sean Ross Sapp during Fightful’s Q&A session if there was any update on it. He mentioned how she was either at home or going out and doing whatever she wanted. In other words, she was terrifying and wasn’t backstage at any AEW show.

When asked about it, Tony Khan’s answers were mostly vague, but he didn’t rule out an AEW return for her. It remains to be seen if that will happen at some point this year, or if she will remain absent until her contract expires.
