West Ham They are close to agreeing striker Callum Wilson to terminate his contract with the club.

Wilson joined West Ham on a free transfer in the summer and scored four goals in 18 appearances.

But the Englishman’s chances in the first team are set to become limited following the arrival of strikers Pablo Felipe and Tati Castellanos this month.

The 33-year-old wants to continue playing regular first-team football and is unwilling to accept a marginal role.

Wilson is expected to leave the Hammers, with sources confirming that talks to release him from the remaining six months of his contract are now being finalised.

Hammers coach Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed the talks on Monday, saying: “Callum and I have had a lot of conversations, just 10 minutes ago we were talking about this situation.

“Two strikers have joined, right. I personally decided that these two strikers should join. Callum is a very experienced guy, he’s been in the game for a long time, and he knows his attitude has changed.”

“We’ve been honest with each other. Yes, your attitude has changed, but you’re still a club player and maybe we still need him and he should help us because he joined us.”
