Cardiff City are searching for a fan accused of making a racist gesture towards Lincoln City captain Tendai Darikwa

Lincoln won the match at Cardiff City Stadium 2-0 to move past the Bluebirds at the top of League One.

However, the game was stopped for four minutes after the first goal, and referee Tom Reeves spoke to both dugouts.

In his post-match interview, Skubala told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: “There were allegations of a fan making racist comments to Tendai Darekwa.

“We have to follow due process.

“The referee did everything right, went straight to Tendai and then spoke to us. Tendai was happy to continue, but now he is rising to a higher level.

“There is absolutely no place for that in the game, whether from the fans, the players or anyone else.

He added, “We hope that we can get to the bottom of the matter. The referee was very professional and did the right thing and we hope that we can solve this problem.”

When asked after the match about the incident, Cardiff manager Brian Barry-Murphy said: “The referee said there was an incident involving the fans and the Lincoln captain when they scored.

“They said it would be dealt with after the game.”

The referee will also have submitted his report at the end of the match to the Football Association, who will then determine whether there is any further action to be taken.

This latest incident comes a month after the Football Association charged Cardiff City after the club’s fans directed homophobic chants at Chelsea.

Cardiff, who say they are awaiting further dialogue with the Football Association over the incident, revealed there was another report of anti-social behavior in which an object was thrown at a Lincoln City goalkeeper during Saturday’s match.
