The final episode of BBC’s hit reality TV series The Celebrity Traitors has been released online more than 24 hours before it is due to air in the UK. Viewers in Canada reported that they were able to watch the entire episode before it was pulled.
People online have been claiming that TV network Crave Canada uploaded the final version before its UK launch. One user posted a screenshot of the hour-and-eight-minute episode, showing the five remaining contestants wearing camouflage jackets addressing host Claudia Winkleman. The message carried the following description: “With the prize fund complete, will the pressure of winning cloud anyone’s vision?”
The forums were filled with people from all over the world claiming to have watched the entire episode. However, those who watched the episode largely maintain an impressive level of respect for people who don’t want to spoil it. A Reddit thread dedicated to the topic offers users the opportunity to message them directly if they want spoilers instead of posting them publicly.
“Not sure if this is a bug or what, but in Canada we got the Celebrity Traitors UK finale on @CraveCanada a day before the UK did,” commented one X (formerly Twitter) user. “I promise not to spoil it for you Brits.”
Other users in New Zealand also claimed that the episode was released there too early, only to be pulled.
“Did anyone else in New Zealand watch part one of the UK Celebrity final today, then it was removed from ThreeNow later today? I watched it around 1pm today,” one user commented.
“Yes! I think it was pulled while we were watching when I checked on it after finishing the episode and it was gone.”
A BBC source commented: “We would ask anyone who thinks they know the outcome of The Celebrity Traitors to keep everything they think they know to themselves. Please avoid sharing any potential spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been faithfully following every twist and turn of the series can enjoy the finale this evening.”
The series finale of Celebrity Traitors airs in the UK on BBC One at 9pm on 6 November.
