Celebrity Traitors star Ruth Codd recovers after having her second leg amputated | Traitors

Actress Ruth Codd, star of The Celebrity Traitors, has announced that she is recovering after having her second leg amputated.

The 29-year-old Irish artist underwent an amputation for the first time in six years after injuring her foot while playing football as a teenager, leading to years of surgeries and chronic pain.

On Wednesday, Code posted a video on TikTok in which she revealed that she has now undergone the same operation on her left leg.

“Hey guys. So, I have some good news and some bad news. Good news, we’re having a total moment. I’m back making TikTok content at my parents’ house. Bad news, I can’t do that in front of the pretty blue floral wallpaper anymore, since that room is upstairs,” she said.

“I have just undergone a second below-the-knee amputation. So, unfortunately, these facilities are not available to me at the moment. There is a lot to unpack for everyone involved.”

Cudd also showed off her new wheelchair, which she said she named “Fat Tony.” “This is my new whip,” she joked. She added in the caption: “No legs? #paralympics2026.”

In a recent interview on YouTube channel FFTV, the actress said she actually removed all of her toes in 2021 due to the effects of using crutches for eight years.

She said doctors told her her foot would “never get better” and that it made it “more difficult” for her to work and perform.

“I’ve been on crutches for eight years, and the way I used my crutches I was always standing on my toes, so I eventually destroyed the joints in my feet,” she said. “It’s past the point where they can do anything about it.”

Cudd also detailed the recovery process, saying she would have to spend at least a month waiting for the limb to heal before she could get a prosthetic.

The actress built a following on TikTok during the Covid pandemic, when she began posting comedy sketches and highlighting disability awareness.

She has starred in the Netflix horror series The Midnight Club and The Fall of the House of Usher.

She appeared in the first series of The Celebrity Traitors earlier this year, but was “killed” by the traitors in episode four after correctly naming Jonathan Ross as a traitor at the Round Table.
