Pop star Chappelle Rowan has announced she has left her talent agency after emails between its founder and Ghislaine Maxwell emerged in Epstein’s files.

The Grammy Award-winning artist shared a statement on social media announcing her departure from Wasserman, led by sports and entertainment executive Casey Wasserman.

“As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman,” Rowan, best known for his hits including Good Luck, Babe! Pink Pony Club wrote on Instagram. “I hold my team to the highest standards, and it is my duty to protect them as well. No artist, agent, or employee should ever be expected to defend or ignore actions that are in strong conflict with our moral values.”

Documents recently released by the US Department of Justice included flirtatious emails between Wasserman, who was married at the time, and Maxwell from 2003. Maxwell was convicted in 2021 on federal charges of conspiring with Epstein to sexually assault teenage girls.

Wasserman, who is responsible for organizing the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, apologized for communicating with Maxwell. “I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell,” he said, adding that it happened “long before her horrific crimes came to light.”

Rowan did not mention Epstein or the Epstein files in her Instagram statement announcing her departure from Wasserman.

The 27-year-old said she refuses to “sit passively” and that artists “deserve representation that aligns with their values ​​and supports their safety and dignity.”

She concluded that the decision to leave Wasserman “reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust.”

Wasserman said he had “no personal or business relationship whatsoever” with Epstein, but he did participate in a “humanitarian flight” on his plane. “I’m very sorry to have any association with either of them,” he said.

Wasserman has not been accused of criminal wrongdoing by any of Epstein’s victims, but since the revelations, he has faced increasing pressure to distance himself from his talent agency and step down from the Olympics organizing committee.

Rowan, who has more than 35 million monthly listeners on Spotify, is the most high-profile artist to end his relationship with Wasserman. Her announcement came after other teams she represents issued statements distancing themselves from the agency.

The indie rock band said Wednesday it was “horrified” to see Wasserman appear in Epstein’s files, and expressed hope he would step down “for the sake of his employees.”

“The agency’s name is in Epstein’s files, so… we’re gone,” Dropkick Murphys posted on social media.

Rock band Beach Bunny said they were “extremely disappointed and disgusted” by Wasserman’s involvement with Ghislaine Maxwell.

Others who shared statements about Wasserman included Best Coast frontman Bethany Cosentino, who wrote “people in power can’t keep skating,” and experimental indie rock duo Water From Your Eyes, who said they had “no interest in being affiliated with Casey Wasserman.”

Sleigh Bells’ Alexis Krauss said the duo would not be leaving the company, citing the financial impact it would have on the band. “Do I wish I could burn everything down, boycott and divest? I sure do,” she wrote.

Other notable musicians represented by Wasserman include Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, Coldplay, SZA, Lorde and Tyler the Creator.

Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence after a New York jury convicted him on charges including sex trafficking of a minor. She was arrested in 2020 after federal prosecutors accused her of recruiting and grooming girls to have sex with Epstein between 1994 and 2004.

The US Department of Justice’s release of millions of internal documents related to Epstein revealed the late financier and sex offender’s ties to several high-profile figures, before and after his guilty plea in 2008 to prostitution charges, including soliciting an underage girl.

Epstein’s death in 2019 in a Manhattan jail cell was ruled a suicide.
