Chase Pearson: Nottingham Panthers are moving forward with their recipe for success and egg hair treatments

The value placed on success, the endless effort it requires, and the “fleeting” joy it brings, is something you wrestle with along the way.

The European Continental Cup he helped the Panthers win earlier this season, and the Challenge Cup he will win when they play Belize, are moments from his career that he has learned to cherish.

Sitting on a private plane as an NHL player for the first time taught him that.

“On that plane after the first game, I said, ‘Wow, this is incredible, but what’s next?’” He reversed.

“I didn’t realize I’d feel that way, and I thought: ‘I’ve just spent 15 years getting here and now I’m thinking what?’

“That moment made me realize that it wasn’t about getting there, it was more about proving that I could do it and all the moments in between.

“We talked about this in the locker room today, about being so busy chasing this, chasing that, trying to achieve this and that, that sometimes you forget to sit down and enjoy it and be with everyone.

“There are not many moments in your life or career where you remember winning something. I don’t think about medals or silverware, it’s about doing something that no one can ever take away from you.

“It’s understanding that helps you make those connections with your teammates and people in the organization, not a medal that you can hang on your wall or end up in your basement where no one will ever see it.”
