The result left Chelsea in sixth place in the English Premier League, just one point behind Liverpool, who is fifth in the race to qualify for the Champions League.

However, Everton now sit in seventh place, just two points behind Chelsea, and are part of a group of teams capable of overtaking the struggling giants with seven games left to play this season.

“I don’t focus on the noise,” Rosenior told the BBC. “I know for a fact where I’m at and where we are as a club and what we can achieve, which is still some amazing things.

“It’s been a real testing period for these players. We’ve had a lot of setbacks and we have to dust ourselves off and make sure we come back fighting.”
