Chris Brown is speaking out after Bad Bunny’s halftime show faced major backlash

Puerto Rican star Bad Bunny’s song “Benito Bowl” captured the attention of the crowd at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday. His controversial Super Bowl halftime show celebrated his Latino heritage.

Two-time Grammy Award-winning singer Chris Brown reacted to the performance on his Instagram story, writing:

“I think it’s safe to say..they need me!”

Brown, who won a second Grammy for Best R&B Album for 11:11 (Deluxe) last year, did not appear at the Super Bowl halftime show. His agent Anthony Wilson said the American singer will headline the halftime show in the future. He said in an interview with Billboard in December:

“I also think the Super Bowl would be a great place for him. I think it will happen.”

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny’s halftime performance was countered by Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime” show with Kid Rock.
