Crawley Town have appointed former Derby County, Brighton and Sheffield United striker Colin Kazim-Richards as their new coach.
The 39-year-old – who was involved in Arsenal’s youth set-up – takes over after the club parted ways with Scott Lindsay on Monday.
Lindsay left after 10 games without a win in League Two, with Crawley picking up just five points to leave them two places and one point above the relegation zone.
Kazim Richards retired from playing in 2023 after a stint at Turkish club Fatih Karagumruk, with Celtic, Fenerbahce, Toulouse, Galatasaray, Olympiacos, Bursaspor, Feyenoord and Brazilian club Corinthians among his previous clubs.
He participated in 37 international matches with Türkiye, scoring two goals, after making his debut in 2007.
Crawley’s owner, Rafael Khalili, told the club’s website, external: “After a comprehensive and highly competitive recruitment process, Colin distinguished himself as an outstanding candidate.
He added: “He is a natural leader with extensive experience in the dressing room, and we firmly believe that he is the right person to lead the club forward at this important time.”
