✅ **What You’ll Learn**:

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr after his departure from Manchester United in December 2022, becoming the highest-paid player in football history with an annual salary of 177 million pounds sterling.

The club, which has won 10 Saudi Professional League titles, described the signing as “history in the making” but Ronaldo has only won the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023 since the move.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has signed a new two-year contract in June 2025.

Both Al-Nasr and Al-Hilal – the country’s most successful club with 19 league titles – are among the teams controlled by the Public Investment Fund, which also backs Newcastle United.

BBC Sport learned that the transfer of his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema to Al-Hilal, the league leaders, coming from Al-Ittihad earlier this week was the main reason behind Ronaldo’s frustration with Al-Nasr.

French striker Benzema (38 years old) scored a hat-trick in his first appearance with Al Hilal in a 6-0 win over Al-Ukhdood on Thursday.

Al-Nasr occupies second place in the league, one point behind leaders Al-Hilal, as both have played 20 matches so far this season.
