Although Palace recorded their first win in 13 matches at Brighton two weeks ago, they blew a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 at home to second-placed Burnley.

In a press conference after Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Bosnia, Glasner told disgruntled fans to “stay humble” and was far from convincing when asked if he wanted to stay at Selhurst Park until the summer, saying: “Let’s see what the future holds, you never know.”

On whether he was motivated to continue leading the club, he replied, “Yes, I think so,” before adding, “I’m not good enough to replace the players we sold. I’m not good enough to integrate new players to play the same way we played, and I’m not good enough that we can handle the schedule we have.”

But Glasner provided further clarity after Sunday’s game, stressing that he remains committed to the club.

“For me, Oliver Glassner is not important,” he said in an interview with the BBC. “If the club thinks it needs to change, I don’t want to be in the way. That’s what I meant.

“I spoke to the board, the president and the sporting director and they said no, we think you are the right person.”
