Danielle Collins heals from a heartbreaking accident involving her pets with a sweet surprise on Christmas Eve

Danielle Collins recently shared an update about the “beautiful” surprise she woke up to on Christmas Eve. It involved an incident from her poultry farm, showing once again that the former world number seven’s life is not just about tennis, but goes far beyond the sport.

On Wednesday, December 24, Collins took to her Instagram Stories and shared a post featuring a photo of seven newly laid eggs from her chicken farm. Via the caption of the post, the four-time singles revealed that her hens stopped laying eggs after a coyote attack that led to the death of two of their flock mates.

According to Danielle Collins, the fact that her hens had laid new eggs was “God’s timing” at work. The 32-year-old commented on the post:

“My girls completely stopped laying eggs in May after two of their pack mates were killed by a wolf. I’ve been worried about them a lot since then. I woke up to 7 beautiful eggs this morning. God’s timing is special.”

In the past, Collins has been quite open about her Christian faith. For example, earlier this year, she interacted with a fan and during the interaction, they prayed together, after which the Florida-born WTA star issued a word of thanks.

In September of this year, Danielle Collins shared a unique experience she shared with a fan via her Instagram Stories. Collins and the fan prayed together, with the fan praying specifically for the current world number 64. Moved by the experience, the US WTA star told the fan after the prayer ended:

“Amen. Thank you so much, that was beautiful. This made my day. Thank you so much, this was so helpful. This is the most beautiful thing you can do for someone, prayers. Thank you. It changes everything”

In terms of tennis, Danielle Collins has not appeared in competition since the 2025 US Open, where she suffered a shocking first-round loss to Jacqueline Christian. The reason behind her absence from the WTA Tour is an ongoing back problem. She recently addressed this issue on Instagram, writing:

“I’ve taken the last few months off to recover from a season-ending back injury.”

Collins is also set to miss the 2026 Australian Open as a result of ongoing injury issues.
