Danielle Collins reveals an embarrassing locker room story about her dog “pooping” and a mystery player she didn’t like

Danielle Collins recently revealed an embarrassing locker room story. The American recounted an incident involving her defecating dog and a mystery player she doesn’t like, which left people divided.

Collins is one of the most famous American women’s singles stars. She has been competing on the WTA Tour for the past decade, and her on-court career has seen her gain a legion of fans with her outspoken behavior both inside and outside of the tennis world.

Recently, Danielle Collins showed her candor in an appearance on Tennis Channel, where she told a story about her dog defecating in the locker room during a tournament.

“So, story time. I was in the locker room, and it was after hours. You’re not usually allowed to bring your dog into the locker room but I brought Quincy because no one was really there. And Quincy was basically like running around taking zoom pictures and he was super excited and then he decided to take a poop next to someone’s locker and I’m not a fan of it.”

Collins refused to name the player she didn’t like, but assured viewers that she had cleaned up her dog’s mess, adding:

“I’m not going to name the player, I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus of course because I’m working on trying to be the best I can be, but Quincy knew. He knew the feelings were upsetting. I definitely cleaned them up. I’m not a person who knows what you know so much. I cleaned it up and that’s never been shared until now.”

Collins is an avid “dog mom” and owns five pets. Aside from her labradoodle Quincy, the American also has a German Shepherd named Crash.

Danielle Collins is currently at the Miami Open as part of the Tennis Channel broadcast team. As she prepares for her new role at the event, the former world No. 7 recently shared a special moment with her labradoodle Quincy at Hard Rock Stadium, recreating Taylor Swift’s moment.

Danielle Collins has previously enjoyed some impressive performances at the Miami Open, having lifted her first Masters 1000 trophy at the event in 2024. The 32-year-old is currently on hiatus from tennis as she deals with a back injury she suffered last year and is expected to return to action in the latter half of this season.
