✅ **What You’ll Learn**:
There were times in the past, when you played for Arsenal, Saka and Odegaard were the two players you knew you had to stop.
Teams believe that if you can intensify the play in their areas, you can control them – and if it moves to another part of the pitch, you can deal with it.
But on Sunday, it looked like Arsenal were finally coming from every angle. Eze, in particular, was getting the ball into these pockets of space in front of the Spurs defence.
This helped Jewkeris too, because it meant there was more room for him as well.
Gyokeris started well anyway, and had a great early chance of his own, but this ended up being one of his best games in an Arsenal shirt.
It probably helped that he had so much speed with Radu Dragosin, who’s not the quickest defender, but he played him well and it was smart of him to stay on the left side.
I remember watching a lot of Gyukiris’ goals for Sporting and he liked to come out from that flank a lot, and we haven’t seen him do that enough this season.
That may change now, and when he scored his first goal, it was as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
Some Arsenal fans who weren’t convinced by him will be more on his side now that he scored twice against Tottenham, and his goals were of a high quality too.
I would say that was one of his best games in an Arsenal shirt, and doing it in the north London derby would do him great good.
Danny Murphy was speaking to BBC Sport’s Chris Bevan.
