Carter was also Uganda’s top run-scorer – her second half-century in four innings on the current Scotland tour.
“Darcy did a very good job,” Price said. “I hope you can keep it going, because it’s great to see a little person doing well.
“I think we were exceptional at defending the ball, so credit to our players for sticking with it in those difficult situations.
“I think it’s great to see. When the pressure is on, they really stand up and that’s really important.”
Carter’s 76, during which she found boundaries 10 times, was the best of her career in T20 international cricket.
She had a 70-run stand with Watson for the second wicket before Scotland added 51 off the last five overs, Chatterjee adding an 11-ball 19.
In reply, Saum Mtae and Fatuma Kibasu had a 50-run opening partnership inside six overs.
However, Carter scored twice at the same time, bowling Mtai for 27 before Nima Pius was caught behind for a duck to put Tanzania at 58-2 before picking up Kibaso for 28 on the boundary off a Niamh Robertson Jack delivery.
Tanzania trailed by 86 points at the halfway point, but Hoda Omari and Jennifer Kimaro added 54 points in just 33 deliveries.
However, Scotland then took five wickets for 16 runs in 22 deliveries to secure victory.
Scotland will face the United Arab Emirates next Sunday.
