Derry held Antrim scoreless in the second half at Owenbeg as they cruised to a 15-point win to condemn Mark Doran to defeat in his first match in charge of the Saffrones.
Derry dominated the early exchanges to take an early three-point lead with Lorcan Murray, Connor Doherty and Lachlan Murray on target.
Antrim eventually settled with Mark Jordan making the first score on seven minutes before Pat Chivers reduced the deficit to one goal from a free kick.

In almost the final action of the game, another man making his debut, Ruairi O Mianian, scored as the Oak Leafers cruised to a comfortable win.
They will now wait for the result of Antrim’s match against All-Ireland finalists Donegal in Cargin on Sunday to see if they will reach the semi-finals.
