Raducano has struggled to regain her fitness since winning the US Open in 2021, but last season she completed 50 matches for the first time in her career and is ranked 29th in the women’s rankings.
The 23-year-old began a month of pre-season training with coach Francisco Roig at Barcelona last month, and added physiotherapist Emma Stewart to her squad.
Despite Raducanu’s absence, Great Britain was able to beat Japan and will face Greece in its other Group E match on Monday.
“she [Raducanu] “She struggled with her foot at the end of last year,” Henman said after the Japan game.
“The improvement she’s made has been amazing. She’s been training in London, just doing static training, to get out on the training pitch and get moving and play games. It’s very close.”
“Regarding tomorrow [against Greece]it’s still a little high in the air. We’re forced to put Emma on the list because if we don’t, it only gives us one option.
“When we come back tonight, we will discuss it as a team.”
Matches in the United Cup consist of one men’s singles match, one women’s match and a mixed doubles match.
Against Japan, Billy Harris won for Britain 7-6 (7-4) and 6-3 over Shintaro Mochizuki before Katie Swan, who replaced Raducano, lost 7-6 (7-4) and 6-1 to Osaka.
Neil Skupski and Olivia Nicholls achieved a draw for Britain after defeating Yasutaka Uchiyama and Nao Hibino 7-5, 4-6, 10-7 in a mixed doubles match that ended in a tie-break.
“The spirit has been very good since we arrived in Perth,” Henman said. “Their work ethic and camaraderie has been absolutely amazing.
“My request was that they go out there and enjoy the challenge and compete for every point.”
