📌 Main takeaway:

Jordan Pickford: England’s first didn’t make any major saves. 6

Reece James: With England dominating the game, James spent most of the time in attacking positions and had little goal direction. One of Thomas Tuchel’s favorite players and appears to be the first choice right-back in England. 6

Ezri Konsa: Just like the rest of the England back four, it was an easy night for Konsa. Good on the ball and kept it moving when starting attacks from the back. It seemed that just one counterattack would cause him trouble. 6

John Stones: The Manchester City defender entered the midfield when Serbia did not put him under pressure. It looks like a nice partnership will be built with Konsa. There’s not much to deal with defensively. 6

Nico O’Reilly: A very comfortable first cap for O’Reilly. He won possession in good areas and went into midfield from left back, as he does with his club Manchester City. His first-half strike created England’s opening goal and he almost increased the score when his deflected cross almost went in. The 20-year-old has a chance to make a late push to be England’s starting left-back at the World Cup. 7

Elliot Anderson: The Nottingham Forest midfielder has made it his midfield base. He is sure to start for England at the World Cup. Another guaranteed performance. 7

Declan Rice: It was a quieter night for Declan Rice but he showed his strength in the run. His passes from corner kicks and free kicks are of the highest quality and mean he can always be a threat for England. 6

Morgan Rogers: Excellent play from Rogers to start the attack in the first half when he combined with Bukayo Saka, beating a defender and sending an excellent pass to Rashford. He almost put the ball on target with an intuitive header. 7

Marcus Rashford: A few exciting runs and curling efforts saved well. It wasn’t England’s best night but Rashford provided a spark at times. Nice skill in the first half when he passed the ball between the legs of a defender to keep the fans off their feet. 7

Bukayo Saka: He scored an excellent goal in the first half when he tapped in the rebound from an O’Reilly shot. Building a nice partnership with Reece James on the right flank for England. He had another half-chance in the first half but shot the ball wide. 7

Harry Kane: The England captain dropped deep to get the ball as England struggled to break down a stubborn Serbia defence. A few excellent passes to start attacks. Wasted a good chance with a header in the first half. 6
