While most Iranian attacks appear to have been intercepted so far, some of the UAE’s most iconic buildings have suffered damage – including the Fairmont The Palm on the posh Palm Jumeirah and the Burj Al Arab hotel.

Dubai International Airport was also exposed, along with Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said the decision to cancel the series with England was “mutually agreed upon” while arrangements were made to bring their unit home.

“The safety, security and well-being of players and support staff remains PCB’s top priority,” the PCB added.

“The PCB remains in constant touch with the team management and players to ensure appropriate action is taken to bring the team back to Pakistan.”

England won the three-match T20 series against Pakistan Shaheens 3-0 and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match 50-over series.
