✅ Main takeaway:

AJ Brimson is set to make his England debut at full-back in the second Test against Australia in Liverpool on Saturday after Jack Welsby was left out of Shaun Wynn’s 19-man squad.

Wigan halfback Harry Smith has been recalled after missing the first Test, and former Canberra Warriors forward Morgan Smithies has also been brought in.

Versatile Callum Watkins has also joined the squad, with Ethan Havard and second-row John Pitman dropped.

Brisbane-born Brimson switched allegiance from Australia to England earlier this year, having qualified through his mother from London.

Smith, having featured in England’s previous six matches before the Australia series, was omitted from the squad for the first Test last Saturday as Wane selected Mickey Lewis alongside captain George Williams as the half-back pairing.

Hull KR’s Lewis keeps his place alongside Williams in the matchday squad, as Wayne will select 17 players to face the Kangaroos at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Wayne vowed to make changes after the 26-6 defeat in the first Test at Wembley.

England lineup: AJ Brimson, Darrell Clarke, Herbie Farnworth, Tom Johnston, Morgan Knowles, Matty Lees, Micky Lewis, Jez Litten, Mike McMeekin, Mikolaj Oledzki, Kay Pearce-Pole, Harry Smith, Morgan Smithies, Owen Trout, Alex Walmsley, Jake Wardle, Callum Watkins, George Williams, Dom Young.
