FA Cup shocks are woven into Wrexham’s history.
What might worry Chelsea heading into Round 5 this weekend is that manager Phil Parkinson has a list of surprises of his own.
Including becoming the latest manager of a lower-tier club to oust a big-spending west London side.
Back in 2015, Chelsea were clear at the top of the Premier League on their way to the title in the second era of Jose Mourinho.
Drogba, Hazard, Fabregas and their talented teammates should have been no problem against Third Division side Bradford City, especially after they took a 2-0 lead at Stamford Bridge.
“I can remember looking at Mourinho at the start of the second half,” Parkinson, 58, said.
“You could almost see it in his eyes thinking ‘great’ because his team was shut down and he couldn’t get them going again.”
Three minutes from time – with Bradford now leading 3-2 – Mourinho arrived to shake Parkinson’s hand before the final whistle. Parkinson ignored that and watched his team score the fourth goal. They would be the only team to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge that season.
