Tottenham Sporting director Fabio Paratici will leave the Premier League club after the January transfer window to join Italian side Fiorentina.
The Italian first joined Tottenham in the summer of 2021, but left the club in 2023 after his appeal against a two-and-a-half-year ban for alleged financial irregularities – dating back to his time at Juventus – was rejected by Italy’s highest sporting court.
Paratici received a 30-month ban from FIFA, but worked as an advisor to Tottenham before officially returning in October.
He said in a statement issued by Tottenham: “I loved my time at the club, but this opportunity, coupled with the need to remain in my homeland, led me to this decision.”
Reports came in that Paratici would return to Italy at the end of 2025, with Tottenham manager Thomas Frank saying: “We are paying his wages, he works very hard.”
Fiorentina currently sits in 18th place in Serie A, and Tottenham winger Manor Solomon recently joined the Italian side on a loan deal with an option to buy.
“Our management structure is designed to be flexible in the face of personnel changes and it will be business as usual going forward,” said Tottenham chief executive Vinay Venkatesham, who brought Paratici back to the north London club.
