WASHINGTON (AP) — Sen. John Fetterman says he has returned home to his family in Pennsylvania after being hospitalized for what his office said was an episode of ventricular fibrillation that caused him to feel dizzy and fall during an early morning walk Thursday.
Fetterman, a Pennsylvania Democrat, posted a photo Saturday on Channel X showing the after effects on his nose and forehead, saying, “After 20 stitches and a full recovery, I’m back home” with his wife, Gisele, and their children.
A smiling Fetterman also said he was grateful to the medical team in Pittsburgh that “put me back together.”
“See you again in the capital,” he concluded.

Ventricular fibrillation is the most serious form of abnormal heart rhythm and can lead to cardiac arrest — when the heart suddenly stops beating — and sudden cardiac death, according to the American Heart Association.
Ventricular fibrillation occurs in the lower chambers of the heart, and the Heart Association says its causes include cardiomyopathy, which Fetterman was diagnosed with in 2022. Cardiomyopathy can obstruct blood flow and possibly cause a heartbeat so irregular that it can be fatal.
Fetterman (56 years old) revealed that he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and another type of abnormal heart rhythm, which is atrial fibrillation, after suffering a stroke during his 2022 election campaign.
